Who we are
The Mission
The Kids' Guide to Engineering Everything is a series designed to introduce kids to all types of engineering. As STEM continues to grow, it's never too early to get kids excited about building the future. Through fun stories, hands-on activities, discussion prompts, and a look at the future of engineering, this series makes learning inclusive, engaging, and accessible for all.
The Book
Meet the Engineers: A Mission to Build! takes kids on an adventure through 10 engineering fields, weaving in historic facts and real-world connections along the way. Tyler and Cody meet a new engineer at every stop, sparking curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. This book encourages children to ask questions, think deeper, and see the world through an engineer's eyes — while building skills in teamwork, collaboration, and troubleshooting.
With vibrant illustrations, hands-on activities, and a surprise mission at the end, this 34-page hardcover is built for ages 8–11 and aligned with NGSS standards for grades 3–5. Every word was written by a real avionics engineer — not AI — and brought to life by illustrators with 25+ years of experience in STEM imagery.
The Author
I'm Melody — an avionics engineer with a career spanning spacecraft, satellites, and rocket systems. I wrote this series because I wanted kids to see engineers who look like them and discover the cooler side of engineering that most people never hear about. My hope is that these books land in classrooms, libraries, and homes everywhere and give kids the confidence to say, "I can build that!”.
